1 chicken cut up or your choice of chicken parts (skin must be on!)
salt (to taste)
BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or my recipe)
On the Grill (charcoal, gas, or electric):
Salt chicken pieces to your taste. Place on hot grill and cook until almost done, turning over frequently. Use a brush or dish mop to spread sauce on top side. Let cook for 3 minutes, then turn over and sauce the other side. Repeat once on each side. If you want to hurry up the cooking, you can brown the chicken in a skillet first before grilling, but you will get the best "smoke" flavor using the grill only.
In the Oven:
Salt chicken pieces to your taste. In a large skillet, brown chicken pieces on both sides in a bit of butter. Put chicken in a flat baking dish and cover generously with BBQ sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for an hour then check to see if done.
