        Hamburger Lasagna Casserole        

1 lb. lean hamburger
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons Italian spice blend (or make your own with oregano and basil)
1 can tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
4 oz. cream cheese (half of a large brick), softened
1 cup sour cream
12 oz. package of medium egg noodles

Brown the hamburger, crumbling well, along with the onions then drain off the grease. Start the noodles cooking and drain when done. While they cook, add in the tomato paste plus 3 cans of water to the hamburger along with the Italian spices, sugar, and salt. Let this simmer until it is thick. Mix the cream cheese and sour cream in a small bowl. Once the sauce and noodles are ready, take a 3 quart casserole dish and layer in thirds. First a layer of noodles, then the sour cream mixture, then sauce. You should have 9 layers total, 3 of each item. Top with grated mozzarella cheese and either microwave on high for 5 minutes or bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
