4 tablespoons grated onion
1 can of tomato paste
3/4 cup water (can use 1 cup of fresh tomato sauce instead of water and paste)
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons Worchestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
dash of ground cloves
2 tablespoons sugar
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer until of desired consistency.
I usually make this with tomato sauce cooked down from peeled fresh tomatoes. You can also can this in a water bath canner as long as you add 1 teaspoon of Fruit Fresh to each quart of sauce.
