      Pecan Pie      


1/2 stick (1/4 cup) of butter or margarine
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup (Karo if you can get it)
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup of pecans (chopped or whole)
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell (frozen or homemade)

Preheat oven to 325 degrees

Melt butter and mix in sugar and syrup. Add this mixture, the vanilla, and salt to the beaten eggs and mix well. Stir in pecans and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake for 1 hour. Center will harden as the pie cools. Do not overcook or it will get too hard.
